His first book: "If you know what I mean" was something that John and I brainstormed two years ago. He was writing for fun while medicated and the result was so wonderful that I encouraged him to write more stories and complete a book. He is onto his second book now. These pictures are from his 80th birthday party this past July. I remember that it was a day of frazzlement for me- Driving from the office to orange then back to Stonington for another event. But wonderful to know John and perhaps be a source of inspiration at times.- Stefana Pecher Link to John's site

The Country Doc Family Medicine and Wellness Center is the Center of Excellence for treatment of Lyme Disease in New London Connecticut and surrounding area. The disease named after the town of Lyme on the Connecticut River. Lyme disease comes from the bite of a tick and creates a bedlam of issues with the human body, everything from sore muscles to death if severe enough and left untreated.  Lyme Disease has also become much more prevalent each year.  It’s amazing that a bug so small can wreak such havoc.  Most of us have heard about the red bullseye rash that develops around the tick bite, but this doesn’t always happen.  Many times people don’t even realize they’ve been bitten. Dr.Stefana Pecher notes that sore muscles and fatigue are common effects of Lyme disease, but we have also been seeing patients with onset dizziness, light sensitivity, panic attacks, joint pain and headaches. It can, in most cases, be easily treated with either anti-biotics or with homeopathic medicine.  Stop by The Country Doc Walk-In and Wellness Center at 391 Norwich-Westerly Road, North Stonington and see our medical team or Naturopath or visit our website www.countrydocct.com.  Lyme Disease is not to be taken lightly.  The sooner it’s treated, the faster it goes away.  Have you or did you have Lyme?  Please share your thoughts and ideas and any information you think would be useful to our readers.  Thank you.
